Homecraft Apex Electric Sauna Heater (240V/1 Phase)

The Apex is the largest residential heater we stock that runs on 240V single-phase power. An 18 in diameter tower standing 36 in tall, it heats rooms up to 950 cu ft. Made in Canada, CSA and UL approved.

Big rooms on 240V single-phase

The Apex covers rooms from 400 to 950 cu ft on a 240V single-phase supply. The trade-off is amperage: the 15 kW pulls 62.5 A, so confirm your panel capacity with your electrician before ordering.

Sizing and electrical, by model

• 10 kW: 400 to 575 cu ft, 50 amp breaker, 8 AWG wire
• 12 kW: 450 to 750 cu ft, 70 amp breaker, 6 AWG wire
• 15 kW: 600 to 950 cu ft, 80 amp breaker, 6 AWG wire

The high limit manual reset switch must be wired into the circuit. GFI breakers aren't recommended unless your local code requires one.

Placement and rocks

Keep 5.5 in to combustibles, at least 48 in to the ceiling, and a minimum 7 ft ceiling height. The floor needs to carry up to 325 lbs of rock, 3 to 6 in igneous, sold separately. The control is also sold separately; budget it with the heater.
